Error on Installing OneNote

I mentioned earlier that I had an error finding a file on my install of OneNote. The missing file was SKU0A1.XML. I ignored the file, but I don't know what repercussion it will have. I did have something in Outlook trigger the OneNote install and it asked for that file again.

Did anyone else have this problem?

I had the same problem installing the OneNote SP1 Preview version. (My work-around 'hack' is at the end.)

Was able to skip the file during install, but it continually detected that it is missing (when doing a 'Help' search that accesses the web), and tried to find it by running Setup.

I checked inside all the CAB files in the setup directory and none of them contained the file. I also checked the referenced help file -- it has no references to the error. Seems like MS forgot to put a file into the install package.

The MS Office 2003 install directory contains a 'SKU011.XML' file in the 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\1033\011\' directory. That file seems to have a cross-reference of installation package types, so I'm guessing that the missing SKU0A1.XML file has the same function for OneNote SP1.

I fudged a fix by copying the SKU011.XML file from the above directory to the OneNote SP1 install directory (the path it was looking for the file at) and renaming it to SKU0A1.XML. Don't know if doing that will cause problems down the line, but it got past the install error.

The MS site still has no reference to the error as of today.
